Frequently asked questions
Do you charge a travel fee for Sheffield?
Travel fees depend on your exact location and are confirmed during your free phone enquiry. Most addresses in Sheffield and the surrounding suburbs are covered within the standard service area.
How quickly can you visit after I enquire?
In most cases, Hamoodi can offer a first home visit within 3–7 days of your enquiry across Sheffield. Urgent post-operative cases are prioritised where possible.
How long is a first home visit?
The initial assessment is up to 60 minutes. This includes a full discussion of your symptoms and history, movement and strength testing, treatment, and a tailored home exercise programme.
What times are available?
Appointments are available Monday to Saturday, 8am–7pm, including early morning and early evening slots.
Do I need a GP referral?
No referral is needed for private physiotherapy. If you have a GP letter, hospital discharge summary, or consultant report, please have it ready at your first appointment.
Will home physio replace my NHS appointments?
No — private home physiotherapy is designed to complement NHS care, not replace it. Hamoodi will coordinate with your NHS physio or consultant where appropriate and will not duplicate or contradict their plan.
Can you treat me after a hip or knee replacement?
Yes — post-operative orthopaedic rehabilitation is one of Hamoodi's specialist areas. He has NHS experience at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, Barnsley Hospital, and Rotherham Doncaster & South Humber NHS, and regularly supports patients across Sheffield after joint replacement, fracture, and trauma surgery.
Do you accept private medical insurance?
Hamoodi works on a self-pay basis. Receipts are provided so you can claim back from many insurers if your policy covers private physiotherapy — please check directly with your insurer.
