How Colman can help
Most people call about a back, neck, shoulder or knee that has been sore for weeks or months and is not settling on its own — or because they are trying to get back to sport or normal life after an injury or an operation. Almost all of it is treatable, and you do not need a GP referral to start.
Common reasons people get in touch
- Back or neck pain, including sciatica and stiffness that keeps coming back
- Shoulder, hip, knee or ankle pain that is not improving on its own
- A sports or muscle injury, and getting safely back to training
- Recovering from surgery — a joint replacement, a fracture or a repair
- Long-standing or chronic pain that needs a paced, structured plan
- Getting strength and movement back after an illness or a spell of inactivity
Not sure whether it is the right fit? That is exactly what the free phone call is for.
What happens when you get in touch
- A free phone call. You explain what is going on, and you get an honest answer about whether physiotherapy will help — including if the answer is that you should see your GP first.
- A first assessment in your own home (up to 60 minutes). A proper look at how you are moving, what hurts and what you want to get back to — on your own stairs and in your own space, which tells us far more than a clinic room does.
- A plan you can actually follow. Hands-on treatment where it helps, plus a small number of specific exercises explained clearly, with follow-up appointments as often or as rarely as you need them.
If Colman cannot answer when you call, leave a voicemail or send an email and you will get a reply as soon as possible.
About Colman Siu
Colman is a chartered physiotherapist (MCSP) and HCPC registered practitioner providing private home-visit physiotherapy across Warwickshire — Rugby, Nuneaton, Bedworth, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon and the towns and villages in between. Appointments happen in your own home, so there is no clinic to travel to and no waiting list.
His main area is musculoskeletal work: the everyday back, neck, shoulder, hip and knee problems, sports and muscle injuries, and recovery after surgery. Colman qualified with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Brighton, and works with a caseload covering both acute injuries and long-standing pain.
What treatment looks like depends entirely on what the assessment finds. Where the problem is in the joint, Colman uses joint mobilisation and manual therapy. Where it sits in the muscle, the approach shifts to soft-tissue release, muscle energy techniques and neuromuscular technique. Colman is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists and can use medical acupuncture and dry needling for pain relief where it is appropriate, and holds an iTEC Level 3 qualification in sports massage. Every plan is paired with an individualised exercise programme, so progress keeps going between visits rather than depending on hands-on treatment alone.
Alongside home visits, Colman works as a physiotherapist with Blaby & Whetstone FC — assessing and treating the men's team, providing pitch-side first aid and injury assessment at training and matches, and working with the coaching staff on player workload and return to play. Colman also treats a varied community musculoskeletal caseload at Harbour Bonham, covering both acute and chronic pain and building personalised rehabilitation programmes alongside practical lifestyle and pain-management advice.
Earlier NHS musculoskeletal experience at William Harvey Hospital covered chronic pain, fractures, soft-tissue injuries, joint and spinal problems, upper and lower limb and ACL rehabilitation classes, and treatment including mobilisation, PNF, trigger point therapy and hydrotherapy.

Back, neck and joint pain
This is the bulk of the work: back and neck pain including sciatica, and shoulder, hip, knee and ankle problems, whether they came on suddenly or have been building for months. The starting point is always the same — a full assessment to work out what is actually driving the pain, then treatment aimed at that rather than just the symptom.
Where the source is joint stiffness or restriction, that means mobilisation and manual therapy. Where it is muscular — tightness, trigger points, guarding — it means soft-tissue release, muscle energy techniques and neuromuscular work. Medical acupuncture is available as an option for pain relief alongside either.
Sports injuries and return to activity
Colman works weekly with a men's football team, assessing and treating injuries pitch-side and through the full rehabilitation process back to match fitness. That covers the usual run of sprains, strains, overuse injuries and joint problems, plus sports taping to manage swelling and support a return to training.
The same approach applies whether you play competitively or run at weekends: work out what happened and why, treat it properly, then rebuild strength and load tolerance at a pace that does not simply cause the injury again.
Recovery after surgery
Rehabilitation after a joint replacement, a fracture or a soft-tissue repair, carried out at home. Getting out of your own chair, managing your own stairs and walking your own hallway are the goals that actually matter, and they are far easier to work on in the place where you do them every day.
