About Rachel Butt
Rachel comes to you. She is a physiotherapist who visits people at home across Lincolnshire, and most of what she sees is the everyday stuff that stops people doing what they want to do: a back that has gone, a knee that will not settle, a shoulder that has been sore for months, or a slow recovery after an operation. There is no clinic to get to and no waiting room.
Back pain and sciatica are the largest part of her work. She spent four years in NHS musculoskeletal clinics, working up from a newly qualified physiotherapist to Band 6, and her caseload there was largely people whose back pain had been going on a long time. She also helped build and run a programme for people living with persistent pain, which is a different problem from a fresh injury and needs a different approach.
She treats sports injuries too, from a twisted ankle to a hamstring that keeps going, and works with local sports teams. Alongside that she sees a lot of joint pain, arthritis, sprains and strains, and people getting back on their feet after surgery.
While she was in the NHS, Rachel sought out extra training with the pelvic health team, which made her one of a small number of musculoskeletal physiotherapists who treat back and pelvic pain in pregnancy. It is still part of what she does.
In 2023 she set up her own practice, Stamford Physiotherapy, and she now runs that alongside home visits. She is trained in acupuncture and holds a Level 3 sports massage qualification. Whatever brings you to her, the first step is a free phone call to talk it through.
