About Mehmet Solak

Mehmet comes to you. He is a physiotherapist who visits people at home across North London and East London, so there is no clinic to get to, no parking to find and no busy waiting room. If you are recovering from a stroke, living with a condition such as MS, getting over an operation or simply finding it harder to get about than you used to, treatment happens in your own home, at a pace that suits you.

Much of his work is helping people after a stroke or with a long-term neurological condition. For seven years he worked with a national disability charity, helping people with stroke, multiple sclerosis and cerebral palsy with strength, balance, walking, getting in and out of a chair and easing stiff, painful muscles. He works closely with families and carers, so everyone knows what the goals are.

He also treats muscle and joint problems: a painful back or neck, a stiff shoulder, a sore knee or ankle, or an injury that has not settled. He uses hands-on treatment, clear exercises and, where it helps, acupuncture, and explains what is going on so you know how to look after it between visits.

He helps people get moving again after a hip or knee replacement or a spell in hospital, and works on strength and balance with older people who want to stay steady and independent at home. Seeing you at home means the plan fits real life: your own stairs, your own chair and the step at the front door.

Mehmet runs his own home-visit practice, At Home Physio, from Islington, and has been seeing patients at home across London since 2020. Whatever brings you to him, the first step is a free phone call to talk it through. You can also message him on WhatsApp, which he finds easiest for keeping in touch.
