About Rits Dwivedee

Rits comes to you. She is a physiotherapist who visits people at home right across Berkshire, and much of her work is with people who are trying to get moving again after a stroke, a fall, an operation or a spell in hospital. There is no clinic to get to and no waiting room. The work happens on your own stairs, in your own kitchen and on your own street, which is where it matters.

A lot of that work is with the brain and nervous system. She has spent years helping people after a stroke or a brain injury, and people living with Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease and other long-term conditions that change the way the body moves. That includes the ordinary, practical problems those conditions cause — feet that stick at a doorway, a leg that will not do what it is told, getting out of a low chair, feeling unsafe on the stairs.

Rits also helps with joints, muscles and everyday pain. Before setting up privately she worked as a Band 7 musculoskeletal physiotherapist in an NHS outpatient service, so a painful back, a stiff neck, a bad shoulder or a knee that has not been right since an operation are all familiar ground.

Earlier, she led an NHS community physiotherapy team in Berkshire, covering neurological and older people's services across Windsor, Ascot, Maidenhead and Slough. That is the same part of the world she now visits privately, so the local hospitals, services and referral routes are already familiar to her.
