About Monica Contractor

Monica is an HCPC registered specialist neurological physiotherapist providing home visits across Rutland. With over 10 years' experience across the NHS, she helps people recover and rebuild their independence after a stroke, a neurological diagnosis, surgery, a fall or a period in hospital.

She currently works as a Band 6 Specialist Neuro and Stroke Physiotherapist with Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust's community integrated neurology and stroke service, supporting people living with conditions such as stroke, traumatic brain injury, Parkinson's, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, PSP, MSA and functional neurological disorder. Her earlier NHS roles include acute and hyper-acute stroke care at Pilgrim Hospital and community neurological rehabilitation in London.

Alongside her neurological specialism, Monica has broad experience in elderly rehabilitation, falls prevention, post-operative recovery and helping people regain mobility and confidence after a hospital admission. She has completed further training in functional electrical stimulation (FES) and gait rehabilitation (NCORE).
