About Ewan Mackie
Ewan is a Senior MSK & Orthopaedic Physiotherapist who visits people at home across Dorset. He has extensive experience across NHS and private practice in both primary and secondary care, specialising in patient assessment, rehabilitation planning, and post-operative care — combining hands-on treatment with evidence-based, patient-centred rehabilitation.
Ewan qualified with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from Bournemouth University and is registered with the HCPC. He currently works as a Senior Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist with Dorset Healthcare University NHS Foundation Trust, alongside running his own mobile practice, Mackie Physiotherapy, across Dorset.
His hospital experience includes senior trauma & orthopaedic and rotational posts at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, covering post-operative orthopaedic care (including total hip replacements and spinal surgery), musculoskeletal outpatients, frailty and elderly care, neurological rehabilitation, respiratory, and A&E admission avoidance for acute back pain including suspected cauda equina.
Ewan also holds an ITEC Level 3 Sports Massage qualification. He takes time to understand your goals and your home environment, and builds a tailored plan to help you recover and stay independent.
