About Mike Perry

Mike comes to you. He is a physiotherapist based in Blythe Bridge who visits people at home across the Staffordshire Moorlands, from Cheadle and the Teans up to Leek and Biddulph. There is no clinic to get to and no waiting room.

Most of his work is the kind of pain that wears you down: a back that has been bad for years, a stiff and sore knee or hip, a shoulder that stops you sleeping, or an ache from doing the same job day after day. He will look at how you move, tell you in plain words what he thinks is going on, and agree a plan with you. You will get a few simple exercises to do at home from the very first visit.

He treats with his hands as well as with exercise, using massage and gentle joint work to ease things off. He is also trained in acupuncture, including acupuncture in the ear, and is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists. It is there if it will help you, and never something you have to have.

Sport is where he started. He spent ten years as a sports therapist before training as a physiotherapist, working with the British Cycling team at events around the world and part time at Stoke City Football Club. Today he is Head Physiotherapist at Longton Rugby Club. So if you have hurt yourself running, cycling or playing, he knows how to get you back to it.

Since qualifying he has treated private and insured patients across South Cheshire and North Staffordshire. Away from work he is a keen runner and cyclist, and has raced in mountain and fell races of up to 40 miles.

Mike trained at the University of Salford. He runs his own private physiotherapy practice alongside his work here. Whatever brings you to him, the first step is a free phone call with Lizzie to talk it through.
