Whether you live in the centre of Wrexham, one of the villages along the Dee valley, or up towards Coedpoeth and Minera, physiotherapy should be practical and personal. A home visit brings assessment, hands-on treatment and clear advice to the place where everyday movement actually matters — your own home.

Why home visits work well in Wrexham

Wrexham covers a lot of ground, from the city centre out to former mining villages, hillside communities and the border countryside near Holt and Overton. Parking, hills, stairs and rural journeys can all make getting to a clinic harder than it should be — particularly if you are in pain, recovering from an operation, or helping an older relative get to appointments.

Seeing you at home removes that journey. It also means your physiotherapist can look at the movements that genuinely matter to you: getting out of your own armchair, managing your own staircase, lifting at work, or getting back to sport. Rehabilitation built around your actual home tends to stick.

What can be treated at home?

Our physiotherapists are HCPC registered, with NHS backgrounds in musculoskeletal outpatients and orthopaedics. Common reasons people get in touch include:

What happens at a first visit

A home appointment lasts 45 minutes. It usually breaks down like this:

  • Talking first. What the problem is, how it started, what it stops you doing, and what you want to get back to.
  • Assessment. Looking at how you move, testing strength and joint range, and where useful checking how you manage stairs, chairs or specific tasks in your own home.
  • Treatment. This may include manual therapy, soft-tissue work or mobilisation, depending on what the assessment shows.
  • A plan you can follow. A small number of exercises that fit your day, plus a clear explanation of what is going on and what to expect.

You do not need a GP referral to book privately. If you already have a referral letter or a consultant's report, it is worth having it to hand.
