About Paul Johnson
Paul is a Chartered Physiotherapist and Cardiff University graduate with 28 weeks of clinical experience across five Welsh health boards. His interest in physiotherapy was inspired by witnessing the transformative impact of stroke rehabilitation on a family member, which — combined with his lifelong passion for calisthenics and gymnastics — developed into a deep understanding of movement, recovery, and exercise-based rehabilitation.
Paul has completed clinical placements in acute stroke rehabilitation, long-term neurorehabilitation, community physiotherapy, ICU, MSK outpatients, trauma and orthopaedics, and medical rehabilitation. In his MSK placements he independently managed a caseload, developing individualised treatment plans and applying manual techniques for pain management and functional movement. His neurological work includes inpatient stroke rehab, community, and long-term care — developing skills in facilitation, task-specific training, and weight-bearing techniques. He has also worked as a physiotherapy assistant at a specialist neurological care home, supporting individuals with complex conditions through functional mobility practice, strengthening programmes, and adapted exercise.
In addition to his degree, Paul holds a Level 4 Diploma in Sports Massage (Merit grade), adding advanced soft tissue skills including direct experience working with semi-professional footballers. He is HCPC registered (PH153808), holds an enhanced DBS certificate, and maintains up-to-date mandatory training including Basic Life Support and manual handling. Paul actively engages in continuing professional development and is committed to delivering holistic, evidence-based care to every patient.
